Dr. Zalman Koonin
Zalman was the a son of Chaim Koonin. He practiced as a dentist in South Africa and later in Kenya where he died in 1936.
Masha Gorelick Koonin
Masha was born in 1889 and died in Cape Town on August 20, 1967.
She had seven children. They were: Sonny, Sadie (Sissie), Poppy, Eric, Arthur, Topsy and Lawrrence.

Sonny was born in 1906 and died in 1977. He was married to Thelma Boyer. They had 2 children: Trevor and Stanley.

Sadie “Sissie” Koonin was born in Montagu, South Africa on April 16th 1908. She died on November 1st, 1996. She married Hymie Rakoff. Their children were:

Jessie “Poppy” Koonin was born in 1911. She married Phillip Levi in 1932. They had one child, Zelda.

Doris “Topsy” Koonin was married several times. Her first marriage was to Lookie Goldberg, She had one daughter with Lookie, Sharon Friedman Klugman. Her second marriage was to Arnold Friedman with whom she had two children: Errol Friedman and Ronnie Friedman. Topy’s third marriage was to Charles Freeman. Her fourth marriage was to Milton Rink.

Lawrence Koonin was born in 1922 in South Africa and died in Australia. He married Rita Sewitz. They had 3 children:
